The rectangle is 8 cm by 6 cm. The area is 8*6 = 48 square cm.

The triangle has a base of 6 cm and a height of 4 cm. Turn your paper 90 degrees so that the triangle is flat on its base side. The area of this triangle is 6*4/2 = 24/2 = 12 square cm

Add up the two areas: 48+12 = 60

The answer is choice B) 60 square cm
