-6(y + 2) - 4< -10

Distributing the multiplication over the addition, we get:

-6y - 6*2 - 4 < -10

-6y - 12 - 4 < -10

-6y - 16 < -10

16 is subtracting on the left, then it will add on the right.

-6y < -10 + 16

-6y < 6

-6 is multiplying on the left, then it will divide on the right. In inequalities, when you divide by a negative number, the inequality symbols change

y > 6/(-6)

y > -1
