The novel 'The Hunt for Red October' was written by Thomas Leo "Tom" Clancy Jr. and first published in 1984. Tom Clancy has had 17 bestsellers and over 1 million of his books are in print. The Hunt for Red October was even praised by Ronald Reagan, which propelled the fame of the book even more.
