5m − 3h = 45

Subtract 5m from both sides

-3h = 45 - 5m

Divide both sides by -3

h = (45 - 5m)/ -3

h = -15 + 5m/3

h = [tex]\frac{5m - 45}{3}[/tex]

isolate the term in h by subtracting 5m from both sides

- 3h = 45 - 5m ( multiply through by (- 1 ) )

3h = 5m - 45 ( divide both sides by 3 )

h = [tex]\frac{5m - 45}{3}[/tex]
